Xi’an Jiaotong University successfully studied a kind of environment-protection sisal fibre reinforced brake disc.Compared with traditional asbestos, semi-metal/steel fibre and NOA materials, sisal fibre reinforced friction composites shows that the friction coefficient is good for fitting with low wave rate at different friction tem-peratures. The sisal is an ideal substitute of asbestos for brake pads.
